The Department of Public Works provides for the collection and conveyance of wastewater to the Yonkers Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility. The Village is responsible for an estimated 130,000 linear feet of gravity sewer pipes and infrastructure.

Sewer Rent Grievance Application Requirements

For individuals applying for a sewer rent grievance for the use of your irrigations system or pool, please submit your application and the required documentation below by January 31^st, 2024. Documentation should be sent to the Village of Ardsley via post mail to 507 Ashford Avenue, Ardsley, NY 10502 Attn: Theresa Del Grosso; or via email to sewerrent@ardsleyvillage.com. Credits will only be considered for irrigation and pool filling uses**. Applications must be received by January 31^st, 2024 to be considered for the grievance credit.  Applications received after January 31^st, 2024 will not be accepted.

The credit, if approved, will be determined by the average usage of your peak period from May 1^st to September 30^th compared to the average of off-peak usage from the rest of the year. The calculated credit will then be applied to your account and will be used to offset future charges. If you are applying for a grievance, you must still make all of your Sewer Rent payments. In order for your property to be considered for a sewer rent grievance, the following documents are required:

• Completed Grievance Application
• Your January 2024 Veolia Water Statement showing a full year of water usage for the period of January 2023 – December 2023. (Alternate document which will be accepted are water usage readings for the period of January-December from a designated water meter used solely for your irrigation or pool usage.)
• If you have a water irrigation system, a bill showing the date the system was turned off for the season.

** The Village reserves the right to verify the existence and functionality of lawn irrigation systems and pools to determine grievance eligibility.  Pools must be operating with a building department permit and possessing a certificate of occupancy to be considered.**
