The Plan
Village of Ardsley's Comprehensive Plan is about building, sustaining and strengthening connections between our people and places. It is about shaping our community together, by learning and becoming more resilient, inclusive, equitable, responsive, and welcoming. Together we will create a plan that positively shapes, supports, and reflects our people, our community, our togetherness, and our spirit for generations to come!
This effort is extremely important to the present and future of the Village. Our goal is to make sure all residents, organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders are given the opportunity to participate and be listened to in this process. The Comprehensive Plan website is about connecting with our community - every person of every age, race and background and asking the question – what can WE help to create, together?
Team: Village Board of Trustees appointed a Steering Committee for the Comprehensive Plan which was comprised of numerous Village stakeholders. The Village first worked with Pat Cleary of Cleary Consulting and later collaborated with the Pace Land Use Law Center and Kevin Dwarka LLC. Camoin Associates provided additional insights by assessing potential economic development opportunities.
The Final Plan was adopted by the Village Board of Trustees on February 1, 2021.
Vision
The Village of Ardsley’s Comprehensive Plan sets out a vision and framework to enhance the Village’s residential character by improving connectivity, continuing the delivery of excellent municipal services, and positioning the Village’s Central Business District as an active and economically vibrant hub of Village life, while protecting and prudently managing the Village’s natural resources in a resilient and sustainable manner.
This vision revolves around these five main themes:

- Connect
- Build
- Protect
Each central chapter in the Comprehensive Plan is based on one of these themes and presents a set of over-arching goals, or broad statements of ideal future conditions that the community desires, related to the theme. Under each goal, the plan describes a series of objectives that articulate attainable, quantifiable, intermediate-term achievements that help accomplish each goal. The plan’s appendix then offers an implementation plan presenting a series of actions related to the planning themes that the Village can implement to accomplish each goal and objective. Together, these themes, goals, objectives and actions create a framework that will guide Ardsley’s future activities and decision-making processes.
