The Rec Department has been adding new programs to the calendar every year. We have been working with the Ardsley School District to run programs with the students.  Movie-in-the-Park:
 Our annual Back to School “Movie in the Park”
 is Saturday Sept 29th at 7 PM at Pascone Park!  
 Our feature is "Zootopia".  
 Bring blankets and chairs and celebrate the first month of school! 

 

 

NEW!!! Village of Ardsley BBQ: 

Saturday September 29th from 12:00 – 4:00 PM at Pascone Park.

Cookout, "touch-a-truck", kids games & a movie - celebrate the end of summer!    

 

NEW!!! Trunk or Treat Halloween Festival: Ardsley Parks & Recreation and the Ardsley High School Key Club join together for the best Halloween Festival ever!  First, we will assemble at the Ardsley Middle School parking lot, and then children in costume will march down to Pascone Park.  The Key Club will run their Halloween Festival outdoors at the Park. Games, candy, activities & lots of fun.  Any parents interested in handing out candy from their car trunks, please contact the Recreation Dept at 693-8012.  Event is Saturday, Oct 27th at 1:45 PM.  (In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Community Center.)

 

Christmas Tree Lighting:  On Saturday, December 1st  at 6:00 PM, we will light up the town for the December Holidays.  We will begin at the Ardsley Firehouse and end up at the Community Center.  We will have music from the Ardsley High School, refreshments, and the man in red just might show up!

Fall/Winter Programs

Pee-Wee Soccer:  Soccer camp for your 3 to 5 year old!  Parent or guardian must attend all sessions.  Child must be at least 3 years old.  Classes are held at 10 AM OR 11 AM on Sunday mornings, beginning September 23rd  (no class Oct 7). Fee is $120 for Ardsley Village Residents, $140 for Non-Village.

 

After School Chess (2 Classes):  Come and join other chess players and enjoy play, lessons and team problem solving at the Community Center.  Beginners Class: Grades 1-4, 4:35 – 5:35 PM; Intermediate/Advanced Class: 5:40 – 6:40 PM.  Tuesdays, starting September 25th (No class Nov. 6th) Fee: $120 for Ardsley Residents, $140 for Non-Village.

 

Chess Tournament & Training Class for Advanced Players: This class will focus on more in-depth concepts and short-term and long-term planning skills. Thursdays from 5:00 to 6:30 PM starting on Sept 27th at the Community Center. (No class Oct 11th & Nov 22nd)  Fee: $220 for Ardsley Residents, $240 for Non-Village. 2nd Nature Skateboard Lessons:  Learn the fundamentals of skateboarding.  HELMET, ELBOW PADS & KNEE PADS must be worn.  Bring your own skateboard and safety gear.  Classes are held at 4:15 PM Wednesday afternoons beginning  September 12th.   Fee is $100 for Ardsley Resident, $120 for Non-Village. 

  

Cupcake Design: Introducing a New Program for grades K – 3rd grade!  Do your kids love to bake?  How about decorate?  Then this is your chance!  We will be teaching cookie and cupcake decorating!  Wednesdays at the Community Center from 4 to 5 PM starting September 26th (No class Oct 11th)  Ardsley Residents $200, Non-Village $220. 

 

NEW !!! Telling Tales: Introducing a New Program for 3 to 5 year olds!  This fast-paced class has stories, songs, music & movement, bringing folk & fairy tales to life.  The program promotes literacy as well as developing social & creative skills.  Fridays at the Community Center from 1:00 to 1:45 PM starting September 28th (No class Oct 5th)  Ardsley Residents $120, Non-Village $140. 

 

Ardsley Youth Basketball:  Ardsley Parks & Recreation joins with Greenburgh Parks & Recreation for basketball fun.  This league is coached by parent volunteers!  Open to 3-6th grade girls and boys.  Practices are held week-nights in the Ardsley School gyms beginning in November 2018.  Games are held in various town-wide gyms beginning in January 2019.  Fee is $100.00 for Ardsley residents, $120.00 for Non-Village residents.  All participants will receive a T-shirt.  Watch for the “backpack” flyer for more information!

 

Ardsley Adult Open Gym Basketball: Mondays 7:45 to 9:45 PM starting November 5th.  Fun, drop-in program for men and women 16 to 39 years of age. (Under 18 years old, need parent signature) Location Ardsley High School Small Gym  

 

Ardsley Adult Open Gym Basketball 40 & Up: Thursdays 7:45 to 9:45 PM starting Nov 1st. Fun, drop-in program for men and women age 40 and over. Location Ardsley High School Small Gym

 

Zumba: Hate to work out, bored of the same old exercise?  Come and work out without feeling like you're exercising!  Zumba dance is an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance.  Zumba dance feels like a party every time!  Burn 700 to 1000 calories per class.  Classes held at the Ardsley Community Center (limit 20 per class) on Mondays from 5 to 6 PM starting September 24th (no class Oct 8th).  Ardsley Residents $65.00, Non-Village $85.00.

 

Adult Yoga: Healing practice for Mind and Body: Yoga has proven benefits to promote good health and relaxation.  The poses are simple and easy to follow.  Come stretch, relax and calm your mind.  Tuesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 PM at the Community Center starting September 25th.  Ardsley Residents $65.00, Non-Village $85.00

 

Safety 1st Defensive Driving CourseSharpen your driving skills, lower insurance premiums & reduce violation points. Taught by Mary Ann DeToma, American Safety Inc. Classes Oct 10th & Oct 11th at the Community Center from 6 to 9 PM. You must attend both sessions to receive credit ! Fee is $35.
