Trees = Our Best SW Practice, Invasives Plants = Problems

-A A +A

Trees are our best stormwater practice.  Their roots take up water, and their leaves give water back to the atmosphere by transpiration.  We need to care for our trees to prevent soil erosion, and keep them healthy to prevent property damage.  Professional tree service care is recommended.

Here are some tree care guidelines:

> Cornell Coop Ext "How to Prune a Tree"

> USDA "Pruning Tree Guide"

Taking care of trees also means protecting them, and all of our native vegetation, from invasive species.
