Programs & Events

 

The Rec Department has been adding new programs to the calendar every year. We have been working with the Ardsley School District to run programs with the students. Upcoming Events    

 
Christmas Tree Lighting:  On Saturday, December 7th from 6 to 8 PM, we will light up the town for the December Holidays.  We will begin at the Ardsley Firehouse and end up at the Community Center.  We will have music from the Ardsley High School, refreshments, and the man in red just might show up!  
 

Senior Citizens Holiday Events:

  • December 4th- Wreath Making 12:00 p.m. -Community Center
  • December 11th- High School Luncheon.  Bus will leave Community Center at 11:45 a.m.
  • December 12th- Holiday Party at the Firehouse 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • December 18th- Senior Holiday Breakfast 11:00 a.m.   

Fall / Winter Programs

NEW!!! Children’s Dance Lessons: A New Program for ages 6 & up.  Children learn Ballroom and Latin dancing.  Learn the latest styles in one of the fastest growing sports in the USA.  Mondays from 4 to 5 PM at the Community Center starting October 7th
(No class Oct 14 & Nov 11).  Fee is $130 for Ardsley Village Residents, $150 for Non-Village.
 
Pee-Wee Soccer:  Soccer camp for your 3 to 5 year old!  Parent or guardian must attend all sessions.  Child must be at least 3 years old.  Classes are held at 10 AM OR 11 AM on Sunday mornings, beginning September 29th  (no class Oct 13th).
Fee is $130 for Ardsley Village Residents, $150 for Non-Village.
 
After School Chess (3 Classes):  Come and join other chess players and enjoy play, lessons and team problem solving at the Community Center.  
Beginners Class: Grades 1-4, 4:45 – 5:45 PM Thursdays starting September 26th
(No class Oct. 17th & 31st)  
Intermediate/Advanced Class: 4:35 – 5:35 PM.  Tuesdays, starting September 24th
(No class Oct. 1st & Nov. 5th)
Advanced/Future Masters Class 5:40 – 6:40 PM.  Tuesdays, starting September 24th
(No class Oct. 1st & Nov. 5th)   
Fee: $160 for Ardsley Residents, $180 for Non-Village.
   
Decorating Cupcakes and Cookies:  Program for grades K – 3rd grade!  Do your kids love to bake?  How about decorate?  Then this is your chance!  We will be teaching cookie and cupcake decorating! 
Wednesdays at the Community Center from 4 to 5 PM starting September 25th
(No class Oct 9th)  Ardsley Residents $200, Non-Village $220. 
 
Telling Tales: Ongoing workshop for 3 to 5 year olds!  This fast-paced class has stories, songs, music & movement, bringing folk & fairy tales to life.  The program promotes literacy as well as developing social & creative skills. 
Fridays at the Community Center from 1:00 to 1:45 PM starting September 27th
Ardsley Residents $120, Non-Village $140. 
 
Ardsley Youth Basketball:  Ardsley Parks & Recreation joins with Greenburgh Parks & Recreation for basketball fun.  This league is coached by parent volunteers!  Open to 3-6th grade girls and boys.  Practices are held week-nights in the Ardsley School gyms beginning in November 2019.  Games are held in various town-wide gyms beginning in January 2020.  Fee is $130.00 for Ardsley residents, $150.00 for Non-Village residents.  All participants will receive a T-shirt. 
 
NEW!!! Adult Dance Lessons: Social dancing is one of the most enjoyable ways to add excitement to your life.  You can never be too young or too old to dance.  Learn Ballroom & Latin dancing.  Monday from 7 to 8 PM at the Community Center starting October 7th
(No class Oct 14 & Nov 11).  Fee is $130 for Ardsley residents, $150 for Non-Village.
 
Ardsley Adult Open Gym Basketball 16 & UpTuesdays 8 to 10 PM starting November 26th.  Fun, drop-in program for men and women 16 to 39 years of age. Location Ardsley High School Small Gym.  Fee is $100 for Ardsley residents, $120 for Non-Village.
 
Ardsley Adult Open Gym Basketball Over 40: Thursdays 8 to 10 PM starting December 5th. Fun, drop-in program for men and women age 40 and over. Location Ardsley High School Small Gym.  Fee is $100 for Ardsley residents, $120 for Non-Village.
 
Adult Yoga: Healing practice for Mind and Body: Yoga has proven benefits to promote good health and relaxation.  The poses are simple and easy to follow.  Come stretch, relax and calm your mind.  Tuesdays from 7 to 8 PM at the Community Center starting September 24th
(No class Oct 1 & Nov 5)  Ardsley Residents $65.00, Non-Village $85.00
 
Safety 1st Defensive Driving Course: Sharpen your driving skills, lower insurance premiums & reduce violation points. Taught by Mary Ann DeToma, American Safety Inc.
Classes Oct 16th & Oct 17th at the Community Center from 6 to 9 PM. You must attend both sessions to receive credit ! Fee is $35.
