GREEN Growing: Free seminar on how to seed native plants

green growing
Event Date:
Sunday, January 24, 2021 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Seeds of perennial natives generally need to go through a cold stratification process. This means that the seeds need a period of cold and humidity before they will start to grow. In nature, plants spread their seeds throughout the seasons. But with the birds foraging, and runoff from rain and snow, it can be more efficient for us to stratify and plant the seeds in protected outdoor containers.

Join a free winter seeding workshop where you will learn how to seed in outdoor containers. We will bring trays, soil and seeds. But we encourage you to bring your own materials as well. We will have expert gardeners Emily Rauch (Hilltop Hanover) and Julie Sootin (Wild Gardens) available to help you with the seeding and to answer your questions.

Sunday 24th, 1-3pm. Outdoors - Bedford Hills Train Station

Dress warmly and don't forget to wear a mask.
